II  Lajawab Aloo  II


  • 250 gms. Potatoes, Boiled
  • 2 Tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 small piece of Ginger
  • 2 Green Chillies, finely chopped
  • 1 cup Plain Yogurt (dahi)
  • 2 Whole dried Red Chillies
  • Sendha Namak to taste
  • 1/2 tsp. garam masala powder
  • 2 tbsp. Coconut, grated
  • 1 tsp. Cumin seeds (Jeera)
  • Oil


  • Heat little oil in a Kadai add dried Red chillies and cumin seeds. Allow cumin seeds to crackle.
  • Add coconut and fry a little.
  • Now Grind to paste the mixture in a blender.
  • Peel the boiled potatoes and cut into cubes.
  • Fry them in oil till golden, drain and remove on a paper to remove excess oil.
  • In a blender make paste of chopped tomatoes, yogurt,green chillies, ginger, salt and garam masala.
  • Heat little oil in a kadai and cook the tomato-yogurt paste till it leaves oil.
  • Add coconut paste and stir-fry for a minute.
  • Add fried potato cubes and 1/2 cup of warm water. Aloow to cook for few minutes on medium heat.
  • Serve hot sprinkled with garm masala powder.
