Ingredients: (Serves 4)

For Marinade: 

  • 11/3rd cup curd / plain yogurt
  • 2 cups mint leaves
  • 2 cups coriander leaves
  • 2tsp ginger (chopped)
  • 1tsp green chilies (chopped)
  • 1tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt

Other Ingredients :

  • 8 large chicken drumsticks (tangen), washed and skined
  • 6tbsp oil
  • 6 cloves
  • 10 black peppercorns
  • 11/2-inch cinnamon stick
  • 6 cardamoms
  • 2 large onions (sliced finely)
  • 2tbsp silvered almonds
  • 1tsp dried mint powder

Preperation :

  • Grind all the marinade ingredients in a blender until smooth & creamy.
  • Then marinade chicken drumsticks in the mixture for 30 minutes.
  • Heat the oil in a kadhai / wok and add the cloves, peppercorns, cinnamon and cardamom. Sauté for a minute.
  • Add the onions and sauté until translucent, then add chicken and sauté until slightly brown.
  • Add any remaining marinade, cover and cook over low heat until chicken is tender.
  • Serve hot garnished with almonds and dried mint powder.
