II Lentil Soup II

Ingredients: (Serves : 6)

  • 1cup Lentil (masoor daal)
  • 3 tomatoes  (pureed)
  • 1tsp. garlic paste
  • 2 onions sliced
  • 6 cups water
  • Salt  to taste
  • 1/2 tsp. chili powder or to taste
  • 2tsp. oil / butter
  • Lemon juice 
  • 1tbsp. boiled rice for garnishing (optional)
  • Little butter for garnishing (optional)

Preperation :

  • Clean , wash & drain  the lentil & keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan and fry onions & garlic paste 1-2 minutes.
  • Now add the lentils, tomato puree, water, salt & chili powder & pressure cook. Allow 1-2 whistles.
  • when cooked, allow it to cool little and then blend it in a blender or mixer.
  • Cook for 4-5 minutes. Add lemon juice to taste.
  • Serve hot garnished with boiled rice or butter.
