Contributed Recipe : Semolina Vada
Ingredients :Semolina - 1 cup, Rice flour - 1 tea spn (medium size spn),
Onion - 1no.if its big size or 02 nos. if is small in size, Green chilli paste 2 small spoon, ginger - paste 1 small spoon, pc,corrinder - 4-5 spoon, asafoetida - little, salt - according to taste (1 spoon aprox.), Oil for deep frying
Preperation: Take a bowl & put Semolina, add salt, green chilli & ginger paste, asafoetida, chopped onion (small pieces),chopped corriander,curry leaves(optional) add 1tspn oil (Optional) and mix all the ingredients well before adding water.
Now add water little by little & mix well. It should be of dough consistency.
(Take care that Neither it should be liquid nor very stiff consistancy).
In pan heat oil for deep frying.
when the oil is hot, take small piece of dough and flatten on plastic paper or by hand like vada shape (round)and drop the same one by one in the oil. Fry till golden brown on a medium flame and remove from the oil & keep it on oil absorbant paper. Serve hot with any chutney or sauce (Coriander, cocoanut chutney etc).
Note : Qty of the above ingredients can be increased according to the requirement.
Qty of Green chillies can be increased if more spice is required.
2 spoon shreded coconut can also be added.
