II  Sooji Nariyal Ladoo  II
  Semolina Coconut Sweet Balls


  • 11/2 Cups Sooji (Semolina)
  • 1 Cup Shredded Coconut
  • 2 tbsp. Ghee (Clarified Butter)
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 1/4 tsp. elaichi powder (Green Cardamom)
  • 25 gms. Kaju (Cashew nuts)


  • In a heavy bottom pan, roast semolina on a low heat till light brown in colour and crisp. Add shredded coconut and continue to roast, stirring continuously.
  • In other pan, add sugar and water and make one string syrup.
  • Now add roasted semolina, coconut and cardamom powder to this syrup and mix well. Keep aside covered for 30 minutes.
  • Make ping-pong size balls and decorate each ball with a piece of cashew nut.
  • Let it cool and then store.
