The Amazing World of Penguins...

Penguins are birds with black and white feathers and a funny waddle. But unlike most birds, penguins are not able to fly in the air; Penguins spend as much as 75% of their time underwater, searching for food in the ocean. When they are in the water, they dive and flap their wings. It looks just like they are flying!
	Penguins cannot breathe underwater, though they are able to hold their breath for a long time.

The mother penguin lays one or two eggs in nest. The mother and father take turns warming the eggs. The eggs hatch in a few weeks. Baby penguins are called chicks.
	Penguins live only in the Southern Hemisphere and never in the Northern Hemisphere.
There is 17 kinds of penguins. Four kinds live only on Antarctica.
	Penguins live in large groups called rookeries. A rookery can have thousands of penguins in it.
