Gosht-E-Patiala (Meat,Spinach and Turnip curry)II |
Ingredients:

1 kg mutton (cubed)

1 cup turnips (cubed)

3 cups spinach (chopped)

1/2 cup fenugreek (chopped)

1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
-
1 cup onions (sliced)
-
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
-
1 tsp chili powder
-
1/4 tsp cardamom powder
-
1 tsp garam masala powder
-
4 tomatoes (blanched and roughly chopped)

Salt to taste

1/2 cup oil
Preperation :

Steam spinach and fenugreek and grind.

Heat oil, add onions and fry till golden brown. Add
ginger-garlic paste and fry. Then add meat, turmeric and chili powder and fry
well until the moisture has dried up.

Add tomatoes and fry again. Add 3 cups of water and cook until
meat is tender.

Then add the turnips, salt and ground greens. Boil for couple of
minutes, add water if necessary.

When turnips are soft, take the curry off the heat. Transfer it
into oven-proof dish, sprinkle with cardamom and garam masala powder.

Cover with kitchen foil and put on bake in a pre-heated oven for
10-15 minutes.
Note : If using pressure cooker use 3 cups of water. If
using slow cooker reduce the quantity of water to half.
