Matar-do-Piyaaza II |
Ingredients:

1 cup green peas
-
4 large onions (thinly sliced)

1 large onion for garnishing (thinly sliced)

2 bay leaves
-
1 brown cardamom
-
6 black peppercorns
-
2 green chilies (chopped)
-
1tsp grated ginger
-
2 medium tomatoes (quartered)
-
2/3 rd cup curd / plain yogurt
-
11/4th cup warm water
-
Salt to taste
-
1tsp garam masala
-
1/2 cup ghee
-
1tbsp chopped coriander leaves
Preperation :
-
Heat the ghee in a saucepan and fry one onion
until golden. Drain and reserve for garnishing.

Add the bay leaves, cardamom and peppercorns to
the ghee in the pan and stir few times.
-
Keep the pan over a low heat.
-
Add the peas, chilies, tomatoes, grated ginger
and remaining onions and stir thoroughly for about 5 minutes.
-
Pour in the curd, water and salt.
-
Cover, increase the heat to moderate and cook
for about 20 minutes.

Sprinkle with the fried onions, garam masala and
coriander
