• Paush Poornima (पौष पूर्णिमा) : Shakambari Jayanti is clebrated on this day. Devi Shakambari, who is an incarnation of deity Durga, is worshipped on this day.  Jain people celebrate as a start of Pushyaabhishek Yatra (पुष्यभिषेक यात्रा). Taking a dip in any holy waters of Ganga and Yamuna is considered auspicious on this day.  Devotees believe that a holy dip in sacred river Ganga and Yamuna on this day frees the soul from cycle of reincarnation.
• Magh Poornima (माघ पूर्णिमा): Magh Poornima is venerated as a 'bathing festival' across the country and a dip in the Ganga on this day holds high religious merit. In Buddhism, there is a special significance of this day. It is believed that Gautam Buddha announced his impending death on this day. This day is also celebrated as Ravidas Jayanti and Bhairav Jayanti.
• Phalgun Poornima (फाल्गुन पूर्णिमा): Colorful festival of Holi is celebrated on the Phalgun Poornima   This day is also believed to be the appearance day of Goddess Lakshmi.
• Chaitra Poornima (चैत्र पूर्णिमा): Chaitra Poornima is the first Poornima in the year according to Hindu lunar calendar. This day is celebrated as Hanuman Jayanti, the birth anniversary of Hanuman. In some parts of India, people also worship God Chitra Gupta, who was a scribe to Lord Yama.
• Vaishakh  Poornima (वैशाख पूर्णिमा): Vaishakh Poorinma is also known as Buddha Poornima. It is celebrated as Buddha Poornima to commemorate the birth anniversary, Enlightenment and Mahaparinirvana (death anniversary) of the Gautama Buddha.
• Jyaistha Poornima (ज्येष्ठ पूर्णिमा): Jyaistha Poornima is most popularly known as Vat Poornima. On this particular day, Vatasavitri Vrat is observed by married women to prolong their husbands’ health and lead a happy married life. It is celebrated as Jagannath Purnima, Snan purnima and Devasnana purnima in Orissa, especially at the Jagannath Puri temple.
• Ashadha Poornima (आषाढ़ पूर्णिमा):  This Poornima is more popular by the name Guru Poornima, a day sacred to the memory of the great sage Maharshi Veda Vyasa. This day is dedicated to spiritual and academic teachers.
• Shravan Poornima(श्रावण पूर्णिमा): This Poornima is considered very auspicious and sacred in hindu religion . Shravan month is observed as one of the holiest months of the Hindu calendar. Shravan Poornima is also known as Narali Purnima , Hayagriva Jayanthi and so on. The festival of Rakshabandhan is also celebrated on this Poornima.
•  Bhadprada Poornima (भाद्रपद पूर्णिमा):  In the Tamil Solar calendar, the Bhadrapada month is known as Purattaasi. Bhadrapada Poornima is the best day to perform Maha Mrityunjaya Havan.It is considered auspicious to perform Pitru Paksha Sraddha on next day of Bhadrapada Poornima.
• Ashwin  Poornima (अश्विन पूर्णिमा):  This Poornima is also popular by other names such as Sharad Poornima, Kojagiri Poornima or Kaumudi (meaning moonlight). It marks the end of monsoon. It is believed that on this night Goddess Lakshmi visits from place to place asking Kojagari (meaning "Who is awake") and bless those who are found awake.
• Kartik Poornima (कार्तिक पूर्णिमा):  This Poornima is also known by other names such as Deva Deepavali or Tripuri Purnima. As per scriptures, this day marks the defeat of demon Tripura by the Almighty Shiva . Lord Karthikeya is the main deity worshiped on this day, along with Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu. In Sikhism, it is  celebrated as Guru Nanak Dev Birthday. In Jainism, it is celebrated as a day of Pushkar Mela.
• Margashirsha Poornima (मार्गशीर्ष पूर्णिमा): This Poornima is also called as Battesi Poornima. As per beliefs, working selflessly for others' welfare on this day, earns blessings that are 32 times more than any other day. It is also celebrated as Shri Dattatreya Jayanti.
