II Soonth Pakodi II

 Ingredients: (Serves : 6)

  • 4 cups Gram flour (Besan)
  • 11/4 cups water
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 green chili (finely chopped)
  • A pinch of baking powder
  • Oil for deep frying

To serve :

Chaat spices :--  *Salt *Pounded or ground red chilies *Garam masala powder *Black salt (kala namak) *Ground roasted cumin

Preparation:

    Mix the flour and water together to make a thick batter.
  • Add the salt, green chilies and soda and stir again.
  • Heat the oil in a kadhai or deep-frying pan over a moderate heat.
  • Drop a teaspoonful of batter, several at a time, and keep turning them over. Fry unti golden brown.
  • Remove and drain on absorbent paper towel.
  • Soak the fitters in warm water for 10 minutes. Then squeeze out the water and add the chutneys, curd / yogurt and spices to each helping according to individual taste.
