II Yam Kebab II


  • 11/2 Kg. Yam (Jimikand)

  • 1/2 cup Bread Crumbs

  • 1 tsp. Ginger, finely chopped

  • 1 tsp. Green chillies, finely chopped

  • 1 tsp. Fresh corriander, finely chopped

  • 13/4 cup Oil

  • Salt to taste

  • 1 tsp. or to taste White pepper powder

  • Red chili powder to taste

  • 1 tsp. Chaat Masala

  • Peel and Wash Yam. Immerse in boiling water and cook until it becomes tender.
  • Remove from water, grate  and squeeze out all water.
  • Add the remaining ingredients except oil to the grated yam.
  • Mix well and divide into 8 equal portions. Shape the portions like a tennis ball.
  • Shallow fry on medium heat till they become crisp and golden brown on both sides.
  • Serve hot, accompanied by green chutney and tomato chutney.
