Daal (Lentils) is cooked in every house
in India in one form or the another almost everyday. Lentils are low in fat and
high in protein, fiber and are frequently referred to as a wonder food. For
vegetarians pulses are a vital part of the diet. Before cooking, always rinse
daal (lentils) and pick out stones and other debris.
